Meet our team of highly trained and dedicated professionals.
All clinical staff have appropriate professional indemnity and all are registered with the Irish Dental Council.
All our staff have completed CPR and Heart Saver courses accredited by the American Heart Foundation.

Dr. Clodagh McAllister

Irish Dental Council no. 7394

Clodagh qualified from the Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College in 1992 and set up her practice in 1999 at 25 Marino Mart, Fairview. The practice moved to its current location in 2006.

Dr. McAllister teaches part time in the Dublin Dental University School and Hospital (Advanced Restorative Department and the Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory). She has a post graduate diploma in conscious sedation in dentistry from King’s College London (Dental Institute). She also has a diploma in cognitive hypnotherapy, is an NLP practitioner and has received her Facial Aesthetics training in the UK.

Her main interests are in the treatment of nervous, anxious and phobic patients. She is trained in the use of dental lasers and uses this latest technology in her general practice.

She is a member of the Irish Dental Association, the Royal Society of Medicine, SAAD and the Irish Conscious Sedation in Dentistry Group.

Currently she is the Metropolitan Branch representative of the GP Committee of the Irish Dental Association. She is on the Council of the Irish Dental Association and a member of their Remuneration Committee.


Dr. Nuala Carney

Nuala graduated from Trinty College in 1988 with Honours. She subsequently worked full time in the Dublin Dental Hospital for 4 years and gained her postgraduate Fellowship in Dental Surgery (RCSI) in 1994. Following several years abroad working in New Zealand and India, she returned to the Dental Hospital to teach and work in practice part-time.

Nuala’s special interest is in advanced restorative dentistry, with a strong emphasis on prevention. Nuala is an active member of the Irish Dental Association and of the Irish Endodontic Society. She is also an adviser to the Dental Protection Society.


Denise Bowe

Denise completed her undergraduate training in Trinity College, Dublin qualifying 1st in her class in 2009.

She then completed House Officer roles in the Dublin Dental University Hospital and at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford during which she completed her MFDS with the Royal college of Surgeons of Ireland. She started her post-graduate specialist orthodontic training at the University of Birmingham in 2013, where she completed her Masters of Science.

She obtained her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2016 receiving the prestigious William Houston Gold Medal for obtaining the highest results.


Dr Philip Christie

Dental Anxiety, Periodontology, Occlusion and TMJ

Dr Philip Christie has been practicing Dentistry since 1980. Apart from his Primary Dental Degree he holds a Master’s Degree in Periodontology (gums).

He also has a Master’s degree In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a particular psychotherapeutic approach to Human Behavioral Science. Dr Christie is a trained Mindfulness teacher (Harvard Medical School) and has also studied Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

His approach to Dentistry, Gum disease and disease in general is a holistic one. It is a Whole Person approach. Dr Christie’s career has brought him through all the disciplines mentioned above. His holistic approach aims to help the patient manage their dental and periodontal (gum) health in conjunction with their overall health whilst helping to reduce stress.

Sheena Barry

Dental Hygienist

Sheena qualified as a hygienist in 2011 having received her training from the Dublin Dental School and University Hospital.

She splits her time between Fairview Dental Clinic and a Specialist Prosthodontic Practice in the Beacon Clinic. Sheena provides dental hygiene services to all age groups. She is trained to successfully manage the oral health needs of her patients. She also provides Oral Health Education to patients including families and to pregnant women as part of their ante natal care.


Avril Gannon

Senior Nurse/ Practice Manager

Is a qualified dental Nurse having received her training in the Dublin Dental Hospital. She has been working in the Fairview dental Clininc since 2006.

She is also a qualified sedation nurse having received her training in the UK. She is a member of SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry).

Avril also is qualified in taking dental radio-graphs.


Margaret Curran

Receptionist

Margaret works in the practice as our full time receptionist and has been working in the practice since 2006. She manages the diaries for all our clinical staff. If you have any appointment queries Margaret will be more than happy to help.
